JOB DESCRIPTION: Boom Truck Operator/CDL CLASS A/B TRUCK DRIVER
Salary Grade Reports to
$ per hour for booming Operations Manager
$ per hour for driving
Summary:
The Boom Truck Operator is responsible for all phases of safely operating a Boom/Moffett within the guidelines of all federal regulation standards as well as company standards. The Driver's primary purpose is to load, unload, and transport company equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Must be 21 years of age and licensed to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV). CDL Class A or B Driver. You will be paid to drive the truck at one rate and when you work at the jobsite booming you will be paid a boom operator rate.
Essential Functions
· Represent the company in an educated and professional manner
· Operate boom/Moffett safely
· Loads and/or unloaded materials that require the operation of a Boom/Moffett, planning and hoisting a variety of heavy construction materials onto delivery trucks.
· Must have clean driving record and pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
· Assist with loading and unloading materials to and from delivery vehicles by hand
· Sort equipment for loading and upon unloading
· Read work orders to determine work assignments or material needs
· Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily work tickets
· Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift equipment and guide loads, secure loads
· Guide loads being lifted to prevent swinging
· Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use

Supervisory Responsibility
· This position does not have supervisory responsibility
Work Environment / Travel
· This job is based at our warehouse location in West Babylon, NY but daily travel throughout the metropolitan New York area is required.
Physical Demands
· Must have ability to lift, move and carry objects up to 50 pounds
· Must be able to push or pull 100 lbs.
· Must be able to ascend or descend from truck bed, forklift, ramps and loading dock
· Must maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing crouching or navigating erratically moving surfaces
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full-time. Hourly. Non-exempt

Required Education and Experience:
· High school diploma
· Requires a Valid CDL license to operate delivery vehicle in excess of 26,001 pounds.
· 2 years’ experience.
· Requires a crane or boom operator certification.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in the US.
