Key Responsibilities Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques for DOT and local agency highway bridges, and perform bridge load ratings. Lead design of bridges (steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental, cable, box culvert) and interchanges for highway projects. Develop structural details, perform load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development using specialized design software. Review, assign work, and verify design calculations, estimates, and specifications created by junior engineers and EITs. Serve as technical lead on mid‑sized projects and perform additional duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Minimum 3 years of bridge design experience. Experience delivering projects for local clients (ITD or municipalities). Experience managing junior staff. 4 years of bridge/structural design experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Previous bridge design experience. Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized in the state of employment. Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and bridge engineering software (LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, STLBridge). Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bently OpenBridge Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil3d. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, and prestressed concrete design. Experience with structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
