Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician to join our team in Prichard, AL. This field-based position focuses on installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing advanced HVAC and BAS control systems in commercial and institutional settings. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and can work independently across diverse projects in Prichard. You’ll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and electricians to ensure reliable, efficient system operation while documenting as-built systems and supporting end users.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission BAS devices, HVAC controllers, and networked control systems in Prichard projects
- Troubleshoot and maintain Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric platforms
- Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks protocols
- Conduct diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on BAS equipment
- Partner with project teams, including engineers and electricians, for smooth installations
- Prepare detailed commissioning and service reports, documenting all system modifications
- Provide technical support, system walkthroughs, and basic end-user training
- Assist with retrofits, system upgrades, and BAS integration initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in BAS or HVAC controls installation, programming, or service
- Strong expertise with Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric BAS platforms
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and building automation concepts
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams, and submittals
- Experience with low-voltage wiring, terminations, and networked communication systems
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel to project sites in Prichard, AL
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
Preferred Skills
- Niagara N4 certification or OEM-specific training
- Knowledge of energy dashboards or analytics platforms
- Basic networking skills, including IP addressing and switches
- Experience with BAS retrofits, system integrations, and upgrades
