Must have experience in writing computer programs and software applications related to the HVAC industry.Job Summary: The Electrical and Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, start-up, commissioning, and maintenance of the electrical systems (480V and below), Building Automation System (BAS), and stand-alone Process Logic Controllers (PLC’s). This position will oversee electrical and controls projects, troubleshoot systems, and be the lead point of contact for electrical and controls systems used throughout the facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the site’s electrical and Building Automation System (BAS), including changes, upgrades, programming, installations, and overall proper operation.Plan and perform preventative maintenance and repair of controls-related HVAC and plant equipment.Analyze plant electrical and automation/control systems; design and implement improvements.Provide remote support as needed to troubleshoot and maintain the Building Automation System and other control systems.Work with Engineering and Facilities personnel to design and implement control sequences for the Building Automation System that improve plant efficiency.Oversee the programing of various standalone PLC platforms for systems that include mechanical equipment, waste management, cold storage, etc., that are not controlled by the Building Automation System.Integrate low-voltage sensors and building sub-systems using various industry protocols such as BACNet, N2, Modbus, etc.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or controls system engineering Experience: 3-5 years designing and implementing installations or improvements to HVAC building automated systems.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education listed above. Certification/Licensure: Building Automation System certifications regarding programming and operation highly preferred.
