Work Schedule
7:00 am - 3:30 pm; Monday - Friday with 'on-call' designation. Some weekend work is required.
Mandatory Personnel
This position is designated as 'mandatory' and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions.
Primary Purpose of Position
Provide housekeeping and building services for our residential students, visiting faculty, guests, and conference participants with the safest and cleanest environment possible. Utilize and properly maintain cleaning equipment, based on standard operating procedures, to departmental specifications. The housekeeping position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and assisting in the maintenance of buildings which complements the impact of student development goals of the department.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, one year of experience demonstrating the ability to follow instructions in operating specialized floor-cleaning or other cleaning equipment and in performing medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties

Cleans hallway trash and recyclables receptacles. * Maintains an inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure appropriate levels needed to perform work. Responsible for cleaning assigned areas, public restrooms, public areas, trash rooms/areas (dumpsters/carts, trash room, housekeeping trash closet), and offices.
