Are you passionate about providing a Christ-centered education to young children? We are seeking TWO compassionate and dedicated Christian Preschool Assistants to join our nurturing team at Heart of Jesus Preschool. As a Preschool Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a loving and spiritually enriching environment for our little learners.
Position: Preschool Assistant
Hours: 25 hours per week ; 2 shifts available: 7:30am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-5:30pm
Location: Heart of Jesus Preschool, Spring Branch (near 46 & 281)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that integrate Christian values and teachings into the curriculum.
- Foster a caring and supportive atmosphere where children can develop spiritually, socially, and academically.
- Participate in daily prayer, devotionals, and biblical lessons, ensuring that the Christian faith is woven into all aspects of the learning experience.
- Help children understand and apply Christian principles, such as kindness, love, and forgiveness, in their interactions with others.
- Support children in their individual spiritual journeys, nurturing their faith and relationship with God.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
- Collaborate with the teaching team and parents to create a strong sense of community and partnership.
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior, providing feedback to the lead teacher.
- Help with meal and snack times, ensuring that grace is said before meals and incorporating thankfulness for God's provisions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant certification in early childhood education is a plus.
- Strong commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to integrate biblical teachings into the classroom environment.
- Prior experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred.
- Genuine love and passion for nurturing the spiritual and educational growth of children.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a Christian team environment.
- Understanding and appreciation of the developmental needs of young children.
- Willingness to uphold and promote the Christian values and principles of Heart of Jesus Preschool.
