Position Summary
The Technical Business Analyst partners closely with product, business, and engineering teams to gather, document, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
This role blends business analysis, technical understanding, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with both non-technical stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment from concept through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Requirements Analysis
- Partner with product managers and stakeholders to understand business needs, workflows, and objectives
- Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions, interviews, and workshops
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and process flows
- Analyze and refine requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment with business goals
Technical Translation & Delivery Support
- Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories, features, and backlog items
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are feasible, clear, and testable
- Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and refinement sessions
- Define acceptance criteria and support QA validation and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders and development teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies, and proactively drive resolution
- Communicate requirement changes and impacts clearly across teams
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to improving documentation standards and Agile processes
- Help establish consistent, repeatable practices for intake, prioritization, and documentation
- Participate in post-release reviews to validate outcomes against business objectives
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role
- Experience translating business requirements into user stories or backlog items
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a software development environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on SaaS platforms or enterprise applications
- Familiarity with software development concepts (e.g., APIs, databases, integrations, authentication/SSO)
- Understanding of SDLC processes, QA testing, and release workflows
- Experience collaborating with product, UX/design, and engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar)
