Senior Business Analyst — Finance Systems Modernization The Senior Business Analyst is a key member of a cross‑functional Agile Scrum Team. In partnership with the Product Owner, the Sr. BA assesses business needs, elicits requirements, defines features, and creates high‑quality user stories that drive a healthy Product Backlog. This role sits within a CFO‑sponsored Finance Transformation initiative and is critical to unifying and modernizing how the organization manages advisor compensation and payment processing. With an emphasis on strategic product development and data‑driven analysis, the Sr. BA enables the Scrum team to deliver meaningful business value through technology while promoting Agile/Scrum best practices. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly analytical, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment. Project Overview — Finance Systems Consolidation You will support the Finance organization on a major enterprise initiative focused on how advisors are paid and how payments are received. This effort is directly sponsored by the CFO. The organization currently operates a mismatched ecosystem of financial systems, including: Three major engines, plus Numerous satellite and supporting platforms The goal of this project is to reverse‑engineer, analyze, and unify these systems into a consolidated financial data structure. You will play a foundational role in mapping data flows, identifying system dependencies, and providing the clarity needed for future architectural modernization. Primary Responsibilities / Core BA & Agile Responsibilities Partner with the Product Owner to shape strategic initiatives and prioritize features aligned with business objectives. Drive requirements gathering with business partners and stakeholders through interviews, analysis, and research. Translate complex business needs into clear, detailed requirements and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria. Produce supporting documentation including process flows, wireframes, and product artifacts. Maintain and refine an organized Product Backlog. Participate in all Scrum ceremonies: backlog refinements, stand‑ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Provide QA/UAT support as needed. Partner with UX, engineering, and organizational readiness to ensure seamless delivery and rollout. Provide mentorship to less experienced BAs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Finance Data & Systems Responsibilities Perform reverse‑engineering across all financial platforms to understand: Where data originates How it flows Where it is stored How systems interact Conduct end‑to‑end data analysis, documentation, and discovery across multiple financial systems. Interview stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Technology to uncover true data sources before diving into systems for extraction and quantitative analysis. Define, organize, and consolidate data insights for the Finance Transformation team. Support the organization’s move toward a single, unified financial data structure. Build dashboards and reporting views that improve transparency and decision‑making for leadership. Provide foundational analysis that will later support hiring a permanent Data Architect. Required Skills & Experience 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, with proven success. 5 years in financial services or retirement industry required. Strong experience working with financial data, advisor compensation, payment systems, or financial platforms. Technical, data‑focused BA with strong analytical ability. Skilled in SQL and analytical tools; comfortable digging into databases and data structures. Demonstrated experience documenting complex systems, data flows, and cross‑system interactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled at stakeholder interviews and cross‑functional collaboration. Experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting testing/UAT. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and experience working as part of a Scrum team. Proactive, self‑driven, highly investigative mindset—able to get answers and push work forward independently. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Remote #J-18808-Ljbffr
