Summary

The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting with all cross-practice business development and marketing activities for the US region, reporting to the US Lead for Cross Practice and Branding Integration Initiatives.


Key remits of the role

  • US-wide BD Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports focused on business development and marketing initiatives for the US region. Liaise with lawyers, BD, events, comms and CRM teams to ensure completeness of reporting to senior firm leadership.
  • US Business Planning: With US Lead, assist in preparation of US-wide business development plan, including reviewing and synthesizing information from multiple single practice plans.
  • Client Targeting/Client Teams: Supporting development, implementation and follow-up activities surrounding client plans and meetings. Tracking progress of initiatives and meetings and coordinating with other groups or offices targeting the same clients.
  • Events: Assisting with organizing client seminars/conferences/webinars, preparing invite lists, mailing invitations, coordinating conference materials, executing on the event and ensuring proactive follow-up, liaising with Events and CLE teams, as necessary.
  • Cross-Practice Group Support: Preparing materials for internal cross-practice group meetings, such as business development activity reports, event summaries and agendas, and liaising with the finance and practice development teams on materials, as necessary.
  • Research and Analysis: Assisting with internal and external research and analysis on clients, targets, markets, competitors, rankings, etc. Demonstrate the ability to discover insights, trends, and patterns through data analysis.
  • Client Mailings/Contact Database: Coordinating mailings for client newsletters and briefings. Maintaining mailing lists and updating as necessary, using relevant systems in coordination with our CRM resources.
  • Website/Blogs: Update and amend the contents of relevant sections of the firms website and blogs, liaising with the website team as appropriate.
  • Law firm referrals: Tracking inbound and outbound referrals.
  • Public Relations: Coordinating with internal public relations team to assist with various media-related opportunities.
  • Other: Additional duties may be assigned. Position may require irregular work hours around key deadlines and events.


Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • one to three years of business development or related experience in a professional environment desired.
  • ability to build trusted relationships with lawyers and MBD colleagues in a collaborative, global environment.
  • a high level of attention to detail
  • a client-service, can-do attitude
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • strong organizational and analytical skills
  • experience with MS office suite
  • ability to work overtime on time sensitive projects, as necessary


Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with some or all of the following systems is preferred: Foundation, Salesforce and Sharepoint.
  • Experience with databases such as Pitchbook, Mergermarket, Refinitiv, CapitalIQ, and Preqin a plus.

This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 to $95,000.
