Johnson Service Group is representing our client an innovative manufacturer in the Detroit, MI. area in their search for a Business Development Manager with Automotive Thermal Solutions background. Our client designs and manufactures a full range of high-performance fans, blowers, and cooling systems for the automotive industry used in demanding industrial and technical applications. This is a key leadership opportunity to drive strategic growth through both direct and indirect sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales and profitability targets by managing and expanding direct and partner-driven sales.

  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, sales partners, and internal teams.

  • Lead strategic account planning processes to define KPIs, financial goals, and customer milestones.

  • Continuously analyze and refine sales strategies to address performance gaps and capitalize on opportunities.

  • Engage proactively with customers to understand evolving needs and deliver effective solutions.

  • Conduct competitive analysis and provide actionable market intelligence.

  • Deliver regular reports on sales performance and recommend strategies for continued growth.

  • Stay current on all company products to effectively position solutions for client needs.

  • Identify and qualify new business leads through proactive outreach and market research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 5+ years of sales experience in industrial, mechanical, or thermal solutions industries.

  • Strong understanding of engineered products, especially fans, blowers, and cooling technologies, is a plus.

  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.

  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the U.S. as required.
     

Salary $120K with 25% bonus on new business and 25% bonus if the target is met
