Due to the recent retirement of the former manager of 9+ years, this role is now open.
This an exciting opportunity to bring your Fed/Gov experience and launch a new chapter of your career dedicated to developing business and sales success within this important vertical with Milestone Systems.

The ideal candidate for this role will reside within the Washington DC metro area and will report to our Director of Business Development, Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the big picture business/thought leader and domain expert for the Fed/Gov vertical.
  • Proven track record working with and selling into federal agencies.
  • Experience navigating the complex proposal and contracting processes within government agencies.
  • Starts and nurtures prospective business relationships, providing information, resolving problems, and forming long-lasting professional relationships at all levels.
  • Identify new opportunities within the vertical.
  • Understand how to use the right events, tradeshows, and organizations to Amplify and broaden the Milestone message.
  • Drive thought leadership to scale with external and internal vertical and horizontal teams.
  • Work backward from the customer and drive the narrative and business case for how to win.
  • Pave the road and empower our sales team and partners with clear value and sales pitch to close the deal.
  • Create solutions that accelerate the adoption of Milestones and partners building blocks.
  • Identify gaps in the product roadmap needed to succeed in vertical.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive consensus for a path forward.
  • Leverage established network with customers/partners/alliances to drive success fast.
  • Maintain established workstreams.

Your Experience

To be successful in this position, you will need a strong sales background with a demonstrated history of sales in the Fed/Gov vertical such as:

  • Minimum 10 years of B2B business experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, masters degree preferred
  • Established relationships and proven track record of selling complex IT solutions to the Fed/Gov vertical
  • Experience converting business problems to an executable strategy with a clear business case
  • Ability to negotiate complex multi-party contracts
  • Understanding of and selling experience through the IDIQ & Bid process to the government
  • Proficiency in developing and executing detailed sales plans, forecasting accurately, and managing opportunities
  • Experience with CRM, Salesforce preferred
  • Current security clearance or ability to obtain
  • Professional background that includes work experience in Military or Law Enforcement
  • Presentation, whiteboarding, and negotiation skills including good listening, probing, and qualification abilities
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50%

The annual on-target earnings for this position range from $171,600 to $275,000 with most candidates falling in the $200,600 to $250,000 range.
Pay is based on the level, location, complexity, responsibility, and job duties of the specific position and is just one component of Milestones total compensation package.
Additionally, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes medical/dental benefits, FSA or HSA, 401k with 6% Safe Harbor employer match, paid parental leave, generous PTO (20 days' vacation, 10 days paid sick time, and 12 company holidays), fully paid Short Term disability policy, fully paid Long Term disability policy, and Life Insurance.
