About Aoka

Aoka is a third-party municipal services provider serving jurisdictions across Texas. We support local governments with expert building inspections, plan reviews, and code consulting—powered by our proprietary software that accelerates inspection turnaround times and helps prevent costly construction delays.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field)

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in government contracting, construction, engineering, or infrastructure industries

  • Familiarity with government procurement processes such as RFPs and RFQs is a plus

  • Experience supporting or collaborating on proposals or bids is desirable

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proactive attitude with a desire to grow into senior business development responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, target, and win contracts with local government agencies for plan review and inspection services

  • Build and manage a business development team to support growth objectives

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in local governments

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities; maintain a robust sales pipeline

  • Lead proposal preparation and submission to meet government requirements

  • Manage contract negotiations and closing, ensuring favorable terms and compliance

  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain competitive positioning

  • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth contract-to-project transitions

  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, forecasts, and KPI tracking

  • Travel up to 50% to meet clients and attend industry events

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base salary plus up to 8% commission on new business generated in the first year, paid monthly
