About the Role


The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to support the companys growth. This role builds strong relationships with clients, architects, developers, and industry partners while maintaining a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity, and project opportunities. The Business Development Manager works closely with leadership, estimating, and project management teams to position the company for long-term success.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development & Relationship Building:

  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities across target markets
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, engineers, and community partners
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, association meetings, and industry functions to increase company visibility.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and future opportunities.


Strategic Growth & Planning:

  • Research market conditions, trends, and competitor activity to inform business strategy
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop annual business development goals and strategies
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, forecasts, and business development metrics
  • Support development and refinement of the companys value proposition and messaging


Proposal, Marketing & Preconstruction Support:

  • Work with estimating and project teams to prepare qualifications, proposals, and presentations for new projects.
  • Assist in preparing RFQs/RFPs and ensuring timely, accurate submissions.
  • Contribute to marketing materials, case studies, project sheets, and social media content as needed.
  • Support the creation of client presentations and interviews for project pursuits.


Client Management:

  • Manage the handoff of new clients and opportunities to internal teams to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Conduct follow-up after project completions to maintain client relationships and gather feedback.
  • Develop strategies for improving client satisfaction and winning repeat work.
