About the Role:
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a critical role in expanding our customer base by identifying and qualifying potential new clients through inbound and outbound strategies, including calls, emails, video selling, and social media. You are passionate about speaking to people and capable of identifying new opportunities within the higher education and professional education markets. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to prospecting, strong communication skills, and a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospect, qualify and proactively engage new higher education or professional education contacts and accounts
Actively respond to “hot lead” demo requests within minutes
Develop and execute outbound strategies in an effort to set qualified meetings
Efficiently qualify inbound leads based on predefined criteria and determine their readiness to engage with our sales team
Provide relevant information and resources to educate prospects about our software and services
Partner with regional sales directors and marketing to execute effective campaigns
Research specific buyer personas and develop personalized messaging for outbound campaigns
Share insights and feedback from prospects to help refine our demand gen strategy and product offering
Actively test and employ new outbound campaigns and content
Analyze outreach cadences with an eye toward continual improvement and up-to-date messaging
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all lead interactions in our CRM system
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, and/or related experience
1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, preferably in the SaaS or edtech industry
Experience with Salesforce, Linkedin Navigator, RevenueGrid, SalesLoft, Qualified, 6Sense, ZoomInfo, and/or other platforms
Strong Verbal, Communication, and Presentation skills
Accurate, nuanced, direct, and kind messaging
Being able to work independently in a remote environment
Able to understand/explain concepts and ideas in a clear, concise, and logical manner
Ambitious sales professional who wants an opportunity to prove their stuff and move into higher-level sales roles
A self-motivated individual who can commit to working regular business hours with little supervision
Additional Qualifications:
Prior experience in EdTech is a plus, but not required — we're most interested in individuals who are passionate about the BDR role and excited to make an impact.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and driving pipeline growth.
A strong internal drive, resilient mindset, and a genuine love for building relationships.
