Job Description
About Us
Darwill is a third-generation, family-owned performance-based marketing company based in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL. Since 1951, we’ve helped clients grow through omnichannel marketing powered by data, strong creative, and measurable performance.
Our Mission: To empower national and local businesses through performance-based marketing by executing complex location-based data-driven campaigns, leading to increased sales, sustainability, and an improved return on investment.
Role Summary:
We’re hiring a hands-on BI reporting specialist to keep our reporting engine running—accurate, on time, and continuously improving. This is a supporting BI role that partners closely with our Senior BI Strategist to execute and scale the BI vision. You will focus on delivery and operational excellence: maintaining and enhancing Tableau dashboards built on data in Databricks, with strong QA practices to ensure client-facing outputs are correct and consistent.
You will produce client-facing deliverables (dashboards, exports, reporting views) and interface with internal stakeholders, but you will not be responsible for client presentations.
Examples of Dashboards & Reporting You’ll Support:
· Campaign performance dashboards (channel pacing, conversion trends, creative/offer performance, and budget impact).
· Matchback and attribution-style reporting that ties marketing activity to outcomes.
· Location-level rollups and drill-downs for multi-location clients (store/market comparisons).
· Customer vs. prospect profiling and audience segmentation views.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Production
- Own assigned reporting deliverables end-to-end: refresh validation, dashboard updates, enhancements, and delivery-ready outputs.
- Build and maintain Tableau dashboards: parameters, filters, calculated fields, layout standards, and usability.
- Support reporting for multi-location clients (location-level detail and roll-ups).
Data QA and Reliability
- Perform QA before outputs are used internally or client-facing: reconciliation checks, trend validation, anomaly detection, and definition consistency.
- Escalate issues with clarity: what changed, impact, suspected cause, and recommended next step.
Enhancements and Upgrades
- Implement dashboard enhancements: new views, improved filtering, and data storytelling.
- Add/refine KPI calculations and definitions under BI team direction.
- Improve performance by reducing dashboard load time and optimizing calculations/queries.
Documentation and Repeatability
- Maintain KPI definitions and reporting documentation (glossary, refresh cadence, dashboard intent, known limitations).
- Create and execute on repeatable checklists and SOPs for production and QA to ensure consistency at scale.

- Experience building and maintaining dashboards in a modern BI tool (Tableau strongly preferred).
- SQL (basic–intermediate): joins, aggregations, and writing queries to validate/report on datasets (you don’t need to be a data engineer).
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivots, lookups, conditional logic).

- Clear communication and comfort working through priorities, tickets, and deadlines.
Qualifications (preferred)
· Familiarity with Databricks (or similar cloud data platforms).
· Exposure to marketing data sources (CRMs, GA4, paid media platforms, call tracking, etc.).
