Business Systems ManagerThe OpportunityOur client, a long-established construction organization operating across Southern Ontario, is seeking a Business Systems Manager to take ownership of its core ERP and business systems environment.This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for ERP governance, system administration, upgrades, vendor coordination, and driving consistent system usage across project, materials, and finance teams. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct influence on how the business operates day to day.Role OverviewThe Business Systems Manager leads the Business Systems & Technology function, with accountability for ERP administration, access controls, data integrity, process standardization, and user adoption.Working closely with Finance leadership and operational stakeholders, this role focuses on strengthening controls, improving workflows, supporting reporting, and ensuring the ERP platform scales effectively with business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesERP Ownership & GovernanceOwn ERP administration, including security roles, access standards, and user lifecycle managementProvide day-to-day system support, troubleshooting, and issue resolutionEnforce governance standards to maintain consistency and data qualityVendor Management & System UpgradesCoordinate ERP vendors, support partners, and escalation activitiesLead system upgrades, including planning, testing, documentation review, and rollout supportProcess Standardization & AdoptionStandardize processes, templates, and SOPs across departmentsDevelop training materials, super-user structures, and adoption plansPartner with stakeholders to improve workflows and reduce reworkReporting, Integrations & Continuous ImprovementSupport integrations with operational tools and Microsoft 365 platforms (Excel, Teams, SharePoint)Coordinate reporting standards and dashboards with leadershipDrive continuous improvement through practical enhancements to system usage and process performanceTeam LeadershipProvide day-to-day leadership and development support to an Associate Systems ManagerSet priorities, service standards, and documentation practices to support consistent deliveryRequired Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Technology, Finance, or a related field10+ years of experience supporting ERP or enterprise business systemsStrong experience with system governance, controls, and security role designProven ability to lead cross-functional change, training, and system adoptionExperience building scalable processes to support business growthPreferred ExperienceCMiC ERP exposureConstruction or project-based operating environmentsERP integrations and third-party system coordinationMulti-entity or intercompany system environmentsDevelopment of system documentation and user training programsCore CompetenciesPractical, service-oriented approach with strong follow-throughStrong coordination and prioritization skillsAbility to work effectively with finance, project, and operational teamsHigh attention to detail and consistency in enforcing standardsStrong documentation and communication skills
