We are looking for a highly organized, motivated and experienced Buyer/Planner to join our Supply Chain department. The Buyer will purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets. The successful Buyer will be part of a world-class Supply Chain Team.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Send and manage RFQs with approved suppliers. Source new suppliers as neededSource components utilizing engineering or production drawings within the Approved Supplier ListGenerate Reqs & POs based on MRP Demand, Expense Requests or Service needs within the organizationManage MRP Material needs, component sourcing and limit any shortage requirementsWork with Suppliers to resolve issues within NCMs, QA requirements or Capacity constraints.Plan, Schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycleSet, maintain and adjust appropriate stock levels for systems in productionWork with suppliers in scheduling in order to support production requirements.Work with suppliers with on time delivery, quality and cost objectivesProvide analysis of costing against cost targetsPerform cost reduction activities in order to maintain budgets and/or reduce costsPrepare reports and updates as needed (ERP reports as well as Microsoft Excel)Resolve shipment and invoice discrepanciesEnsure accuracy of data in SAP, data entry as requiredJob Qualifications:2+ Years relevant experience in procurement or materials sourcing, knowledge in sourcing metal components, Optics or PCB Assemblies a plusExcellent computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office1+ Years Experience with SAPStrong organizational skills with emphasis on task management and attention to detailAbility to maintain organizational tasks with multiple inputsStrong aptitude to learn new processes and complex ERP SystemsSelf-motivated, ability to work both independently and within a teamProfessional and team-based approach to problem solving with strong analytical and communication skills to support production requirements.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people professionallyStrong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEffectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersApplicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
