This role ensures that all purchasing activities are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with company quality and delivery requirements. The Buyer II works closely with internal departments, qualified vendors, and management to effectively source products, negotiate terms, and maintain vendor performance.How you’ll make an impact:Purchasing & ProcurementProcure materials, equipment, and services required for valve automation projectsEvaluate PO’s for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project or production requirementsEnsure purchases are made at the most favorable cost, delivery schedule, and quality levelVendor Qualification & ManagementIdentify, qualify, and assess potential suppliers to support operational and project needsMaintain and update the vendor database, including pricing, performance ratings, certifications, and compliance documentsBuild and sustain vendor relationships to support long-term sourcing strategiesBid Evaluation & NegotiationSolicit and evaluate bids, quotations, and proposals from multiple suppliersAnalyze pricing, lead times, terms, and conditions to determine best-value procurement decisionsNegotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and service agreementOrder Tracking & Follow-UpMonitor the status of open PO’s to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any discrepanciesWork with vendors to address delays, shortages, defects, or quality concernsCoordinate with receiving, quality, and production teams to resolve issues related purchasesQuality & ComplianceTrack vendor performance, including quality, delivery, and responsivenessSupport corrective actions when supplier performance does not meet established standardsEnsure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirementsReporting & DocumentationMaintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and documentation in the ERP systemProvide timely updates and reporting to supervisors or managers regarding purchasing activitiesAssist with cost-reduction initiatives, sourcing strategies, and continual improvement effortsSkills you’ll need:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business , related field preferred, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing, or industrial settingExcellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skillsAbility to analyze data, evaluate options, and make sound purchasing decisionsProficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-throughAbility to work independently while supporting cross-functional teamsHere’s what will set you apart:Experience with vendor negotiations, bid analysis, and supplier qualificationThe Rewards:Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(K) MatchCompetitive PayMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance PackageEmployer Paid Life InsurancePaid Time Off and Holiday PayCareer Development OpportunitiesAbout AWCAs employee co-owners, we’re driven to do more than complete tasks; we build fulfilling careers by challenging assumptions and continually raising the bar.
