Buyer Ii Apply
The Supply Chain Buyer reports to the Purchasing Supervisor and leads the execution of the day-to-day Procurement needs for the Project Services Division within TEi Construction Services, Inc.
The primary areas of focus for the role are:
- Proposal Planning and Evaluation
- Supplier and Subcontractor Sourcing
- Commercial Specification Review and Understanding
- Interaction with Estimating, Legal, Operations Teams to ensure Proposal Compliance
- Project Execution
- Solicit bids, evaluate quotations, supplier selection, Contract Execution
- Change Management
- Scheduling and Expediting of Deliverables, Services, Materials
- Project Close Out and Evaluation
- Warranty efforts as needed
- Contract Close Outs
- Continuous Improvement efforts.
- Sourcing and Supplier/Subcontractor Development
- Find and qualify potential Suppliers and Subcontractors
- Work with the Quality Team to audit Suppliers for capabilities.
- Supplier Evaluations – Post Project and Yearly
Requirements
- Complete Purchase Order Contracts on a clear and concise basis as required by the Project needs.
- Be able to understand and negotiate Commercial Terms and Conditions with Suppliers and Subcontractors.
- Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness
- Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, including managing scheduling changes and cancelations (managing shop capacity data, schedule capabilities, field support availability, etc)
- Manage and be able to negotiate resolutions for Supplier or Subcontractor Issues
- Interface with the Operations Team, Scheduling, Field Engineering, Site Administration, Finance organizations, Legal Department as required.
- Participate in Supplier Evaluations and annual performance reviews, as required
- Ability to understand Project Specifications and requirements in order to identify key requirements that are required for compliance of Subcontractor bidding and execution.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Construction Experience Preferred
- Strong negotiating skills and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage changing/conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management
