About the Role:
An international chemical manufacturer is seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join our team in Texas. This on-site role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, sourcing and procuring essential materials and services to support our operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement for the chemical or manufacturing industry, a strong ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships, and a dedication to optimizing procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and logistics teams, to understand purchasing needs and align procurement strategies.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms while mitigating risk.
- Monitor supplier compliance with quality standards, ethical practices, and contract terms.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications in alignment with internal documentation standards.
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of contract management, supplier performance metrics, and market analysis.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management strategies.
