Allen Integrated Assemblies (AIA) is seeking a Buyer to join our team. In this role, the Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electronic components and materials required for our manufacturing operations.  The role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, and quality compliance while fostering and maintaining positive supplier relationships and supporting production schedules. This position is onsite at our location in Macungie, PA.  The hours are based on production which are 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure electronic components from approved vendors.
  • Analyze pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Negotiate advantageous pricing, contracts, terms, warranties, delivery/handling obligations, etc., to ensure favorable delivery schedules.
  • Verify all information, descriptions, revisions, specifications, etc., when placing purchase orders (PO).
  • Manage inventory levels in conjunction with the Stockroom to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Monitor lead times and expedite orders when necessary to meet production deadlines.
  • Provide regular and clear communication to production on status of orders and delivery dates, especially when there is a change from the original delivery date or change in components.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in the ERP system.
  • Review and leverage reporting from ERP system to ensure delivery time is aligned with production schedules.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics and provide recommendations to AIA Manager/Director.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure component availability.
  • Work with our Quality Manager and Suppliers to resolve non-conforming materials.
  • Aid Accounting to resolve billing, payment, or credit disputes.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 requirements including maintenance of approved supplier lists.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business or field preferred.
  • 5 year’s prior experience in related position in an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency using ERP software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.).
