Job Description

We’re partnering with a small, stable manufacturing company in Oak Creek to identify a Buyer who will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring materials are available to support production - particularly within regulated and government-related programs.

This is a highly visible role where planning, timing, and supplier coordination are critical due to longer lead times. If you enjoy balancing cost optimization with operational needs in a collaborative, laid-back environment, this could be a strong fit. Please apply for immediate consideration!

  • Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week with flexible hours Monday through Friday
  • 100% in the office in Oak Creek. Possible hybrid after training period.

Job Duties:

  • Source and purchase raw materials, components, and packaging to support production needs.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance, pricing, and contract terms.
  • Lead pricing negotiations and identify opportunities for cost savings and bulk purchasing.
  • Plan and manage purchasing timelines, including navigating 6–8 week lead times
  • Partner with operations, production, and quality teams to align on demand and supply.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government contracting requirements (e.g., DoD-related standards).
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data and documentation within ERP systems.
  • Identify and onboard alternate suppliers to reduce risk and improve supply continuity.

Requirements:

  • Prior purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost control and supplier management.
  • Ability to manage timelines and plan ahead in a long lead-time environment.
  • Experience working in ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central 365 or similar preferred).
  • Comfortable working in a regulated environment (DoD/government exposure is a plus).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in chemical or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with government contracting standards (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, etc.).
  • Background sourcing specialized or compliance-driven materials.
