Our team is driven by a commitment to quality and client success, operating across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.Position SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials for domestic and international jobs, according to project-defined scopes and specifications. This role works closely with Engineering and Project Management teams to gather material requirements, issue RFQs, place and track purchase orders, and communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery. Position may be located in St. Louis, MO or Red Bud, IL.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage requisitions and purchase orders from initiation to completionSource materials and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with new and existing vendorsCoordinate with Engineering and PM teams to confirm material specifications and handle substitutions as neededTrack and expedite deliveries; proactively communicate updates and delays to internal stakeholdersMonitor industry trends to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement processesCollaborate with Project Managers on buyout reports and approval trackingPartner with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and support accurate billingConduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and scenario planning to support procurement decisionsEnter and maintain accurate data in purchasing and accounting systemsEnsure timely receipt of technical documents and drawings tied to purchase ordersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of technical documents, materials, and goodsFind and cultivate new vendor/supplier relationships for the products and services used across our market verticalsConduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirementsOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesPromote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization's goalsPerform other purchasing and administrative duties as assignedWork EnvironmentThis role is primarily office-based, with occasional exposure to uncontrolled environments such as job sites or manufacturing areas. Short-term exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, noise, or temperature changes may occur. All employees are expected to follow safety standards and use required personal protective equipment in designated areas.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and communicate clearly. Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. regularly.Knowledge / Skill / Ability / Education / ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required12 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; exposure to purchasing, supply chain, or logistics strongly preferredFamiliarity with procurement of raw materials (steel, pipe, panel components, electrical or mechanical parts) preferredExperience using ERP or purchasing systems, including Oracle, Viewpoint, or similar platformsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Teams, and SharePointStrong math, analytical, and problem-solving skillsComfortable negotiating with vendors and working directly with engineers, PMs, and cross-functional teamsExceptional attention to detail and accuracy requiredAble to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively in a high-volume purchasing environmentExcellent organization and planning skillsAbility to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contactsMust comply with Roeslein & Associates' core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employeesThe approximate pay range for this position is $23.50 - $29/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
