Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Buyer to support the procurement of parts, raw materials, and components used in the build of custom industrial machinery. This is a critical mid-level role ideal for someone with a strong background in purchasing within a made-to-order manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure timely sourcing of fabricated parts, electrical components, and raw materials, primarily aligned with Bills of Materials (BOMs) for complex machine builds.

This position offers exposure to a fast-growing business with high-profile projects in the data center, construction, and industrial equipment sectors. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their procurement expertise and grow into a senior-level position in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute purchase orders and amendments based on BOMs for custom equipment.

  • Source fabricated parts, electrical components, and raw materials from a mix of internal and external suppliers.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure material availability aligns with project timelines.

  • Coordinate with internal departments—including engineering, production, and the internal machine shop—to manage material flow and supplier communication.

  • Evaluate supplier quotes, monitor performance, and drive cost-savings initiatives without compromising quality.

  • Conduct supplier visits as needed to assess capabilities and resolve quality or delivery concerns.

  • Utilize ERP software (Dynamics 365 Business Central) for order tracking, inventory management, and procurement planning.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and support quality inspections for sample products and materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a machining or fabricating environment, preferably within an OEM setting.

  • Strong understanding of custom machine manufacturing and BOM-driven purchasing.

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications.

  • Experience using ERP systems for procurement (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).

  • Effective communication and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with procurement data analysis.

  • Familiarity with logistics and inventory planning processes.

  • Professional certifications (APP, CPM, or CPIM) are a strong plus.

Why Join Us?

  • Career Growth: Be part of a company experiencing rapid growth, with a clear path to advancement into a Senior Buyer role.

  • Exciting Projects: Play a key role in the supply chain of high-impact custom machinery and data center solutions for globally recognized tech clients.

  • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside talented engineering and production teams in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

  • Stability and Innovation: Join a long-established manufacturer with a modern outlook, investing in new facilities and expanded capabilities.

If you're a results-driven procurement professional ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply and contribute to the future of industrial innovation.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible)
Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience
