We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team on a contract basis in Waco, Texas. This role is integral to managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services. The ideal candidate will excel in negotiation, vendor management, and fostering efficient communication to support operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiate contracts, blanket orders, and spot-buys to secure favorable terms for the organization.
• Ensure suppliers meet industry standards, including AS9100 and ISO14001 compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, addressing quality, cost, and delivery concerns.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in materials, processing, and transportation while aligning with organizational goals.
• Plan and schedule orders for purchased materials and processes using organizational systems and master schedules.
• Expedite and coordinate the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies to maintain production timelines.
• Revise purchase and manufacturing orders based on material availability, workforce, and production capacity.
• Support production planning by maintaining manufacturing orders and creating pick lists.
• Participate in non-conformance meetings to address product-related issues as needed.
• Collaborate with the Materials Manager and team members to mitigate business risks and enhance fiscal performance.• Proven experience in vendor management and negotiation.
• Strong knowledge of purchase orders and procurement processes.
• Ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO14001.
• Proficiency in planning and scheduling systems for materials and processes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and address supplier performance metrics.
• Experience in production planning and supporting manufacturing activities.
