Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Oak Brook IL OR Sioux falls SD

Duration: 24 Months

Location:

1. First Preference: Oak Brook, IL office
2. Other secondary options: Sioux Falls SD

Job Description

1. Build and deploy a complete Linux distribution on 64-bit ARM hardware
2. Use Conan to cross-compile the Linux application to be installed on Windows
3. Configure build system to include libraries, dependencies etc
4. Act as a Yocto SME, mentoring and training other software engineers
5. Document build system
6. Basic testing of application to ensure build system produces viable image

Required Qualifications

1. BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2. C++ experience
3. Experience with Linux based embedded software development
4. Ability to create supporting documentation such as design documents, process manuals, test procedures and reports.
5. Experience with mentoring other engineers on processes and best practices
6. Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to professionally support periodic communication to management and technical teams is required.

Desired Skills

1. Experience with Conan to cross compile applications within Yocto
2. Java and C++ development experience
3. Familiarity with the NXP i.MX8 Quad Max processor
