Summary:
We are seeking experienced Structures Mechanics to maintain, repair, and modify C-17 aircraft structures. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in close tolerance drilling, reaming, and structural modifications. This role requires technical knowledge in airframe systems, sheet metal, and structural components, with an emphasis on compliance with repair procedures and use of specialized tools.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, and installation on critical support structures.

Execute structural repairs, including sealing, painting, and shimming.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and repair manuals.

Utilize tooling assemblies and fixtures for structural modifications.

Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components.

Provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
-
Operate forklifts, cranes, and elevating equipment as needed.

Maintain necessary certifications and training for assigned tasks.
Required Skills:
-
4+ years of heavy structures experience
-
Proficiency in shop mathematics, schematics, and assembly drawings

Strong computer skills for aircraft systems and basic office software
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to ascend/descend ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift 35 lbs.

Frequent overhead reaching, walking, and standing on various surfaces.
-
Occasional climbing, crawling, squatting, and prolonged sitting.
-
Use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
-
Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
Desired Skills:
-
Experience with Depot Level/Heavy Structures maintenance

Knowledge of titanium aircraft structures
-
Experience with Executive Fleet Platforms

FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant certification preferred

High school diploma or GED required
