JOB DESCRIPTION:

CAMHS Nurse Development Post Band 5-6

We welcome Nurse applicants who are due to qualify this September, Nurses that are newly qualified and Nurses and those with some previous experience either as a Mental Health nurse or as a Paediatric Nurse with the right experience.

Coastal Children Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) has recently received funding to develop and expand the fantastic services we offer to young people in our community. We work with a range of children and young people who present with a multitude of mental health problems.

We have received investment to support us to deliver specialist interventions and treatments to children and adolescents in Worthing and Chichester areas. We have a culture of support and compassion within our team and we believe that every one of our team members has a crucial part to play in the services that we provide. We will work with you to identify your career aspirations and develop a CPD plan to suit you.

If you are a newly qualified nurse will offer you a full preceptorship plan with trust wide training and access to the new to CAMHS training.

The post holder will be required to undertake initial assessments for children and young people referred into the service, ensuring safeguarding, risk management and care planning are implemented to the highest standard and at all times that the service offers effective patient-centred care. You will be expected to hold a diverse case load of young people with complex emotional needs which requires significant attention to detail particularly around risk management in the community, thus co-ordinating and working with external agencies such as social care and education etc.

You will be supported by more senior members of the team and offered supervision and reflective practice. You will also have the opportunity to co-facilitate groups and treatment alongside multidisciplinary team colleagues to offer evidenced based care.

The post holder will receive clinical and line management supervision and support as well opportunities for in-house training. Some post-registration training would be very welcome; however, the Trust is keen to develop its Mental Health Practitioners and there are lots of opportunities for CPD and being part of the wider Sussex CAMHS team through Away Days and other specialist training opportunities.

This post offers the Trust's 4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of 8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).
