The Capital Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring full compliance with federal government requirements. This role involves managing cross-functional teams that do not directly report to the project manager, coordinating with federal government representatives, and collaborating with subcontractors as necessary.Key responsibilities include:Developing, updating, and managing the project plan throughout the project lifecycle.Implementing professional project management practices in alignment with federal government standards.Understanding and addressing detailed project requirements.Monitoring team performance against the project plan and resolving potential issues proactively.Providing regular progress updates to senior leadership.Ensuring timely updates and reporting to federal government partners as required.Leading project planning and status meetings to maintain effective communication across the team.Ensuring adherence to required policies and procedures, including procurement policies.Delivering all required project documentation accurately and on time.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale projects.Knowledge and experience with federally funded capital projects.Expertise in managing large construction projects.Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams without direct authority to achieve project goals.Strong problem-solving skills with practical judgment and a realistic approach to challenges.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to analyze data and interpret reports and correspondence effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to work in diverse environments, including office settings, construction sites, and manufacturing plants.Willingness to travel up to 40% as the project progresses.
