What is the role of a kitchen assistant in a care home?

Undertake general cleaning of all areas within the kitchen and food preparation areas, dry goods store and dining room including the washing of pots/pans and sink duties. Clean thoroughly areas such as windows, ledges, shelves etc. Assist in the preparation of food. Assist in the service of all meals and snacks.

Requirements

To be a kitchen assistant, you should:

• Must have experience working within catering
• Happy to work between hours of 6am and 6pm

• Have stamina and enthusiasm.
• Be flexible.
• Be able to carry out set tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Have good communication skills.
• Be able to work as part of a team.
