Opportunity
We are seeking a caretaker to join our team. Our caretakers are responsible for the performance of the day-to-day cleaning of the physical facilities and grounds of the property(ies). These responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with the policies of MetroPlains the direct supervision of the community manager.
Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain building and grounds in good clean order.
- Walk through halls and laundry rooms daily and pick up the areas.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop hallways and laundry rooms.
- Make sure that work by service providers is done regularly including garbage collection, snow plowing, grounds maintenance, and maintenance repairs.
- Shovel snow, use snow blower, rake leaves, pull weeds, pick up litter as needed, sweep sidewalks and trash enclosures at least weekly; more often if needed.
- Walk the grounds daily. Keep grounds free of debris and keep dumpster area picked up.
- Clean maintenance areas, garage, mechanical rooms, and storage areas.
- Unit Turns to ensure apartments are ready to rent
- Other duties as assigned.
The job responsibilities are not all-inclusive but indicate the types of activities normally performed by the position. Responsibilities may be revised, and other responsibilities may be assigned.
Candidates should possess the following:
- High School or equivalent education with one to two years related experience and/or training preferred or a combination of relevant work experience and education is required
- Must have experience in the following areas: HVAC, EPA Universal, Boilers License and/or Pool Certification
- Ability to provide training and support on-site to other maintenance team members
- Demonstrated support for MetroPlains Management maintenance procedures and policies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people
- A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
- Customer service skills are highly desirable
