We have an opportunity for you!Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Risk Management Specialist to support the Carlin Health and Safety (H&S) department. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Ensure consistent facilitation, review, and follow-up on Legal Obligations Register, site risk registers, MOC's, and FRA's, as well as consistent policy/procedure development, review, and distribution. Provide training and guidanceDevelop processes that consistently and systematically manage the site's Risk Management (MOC's and Risk Assessments), Legal Obligations Register, Operational Controls and Procedures Programs, in accordance with NGM Standards and Management System, respectivelyProvide leadership, promote awareness, and be a resource in safety and health related matters for all NGM employees and contractorsAct as a technical advisor and interact with Health and Safety professionals to develop and implement strategies to control immediate risks in the workplace and solve complex H&S opportunities.Actively participate in internal and external H&S inspections and audits to identify conditions, behaviors, corrective action implementation/compliance, and/or training related corrective actions and needs.Lead the audit program (external and internal) and perform EHS audits to assure compliance with all NGM's standards and ISO45001 requirements, while supporting ISO14001Support Risk Assessments by facilitating, developing, and tracking action plans.Support the implementation of the ISO45001 management system and maintain certificationSupport the documentation control management system and ensure conformance with overall company standards relating to documentation systems.Oversee and coordinate each area's legal obligations register of OH&SManage compliance to non-conformance and observations with corrective action plans to validate implementation processMaintain accurate documentation and data entry into relevant systems.Work with all employees and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company safety and health standards and systems.Provide H&S coaching, mentoring, and training to employees.Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Associate's degree in a safety-based curriculum or a Bachelor's of Science Degree (may be waived for significant Occupational Safety and Health experience) preferredMinimum of two (2) years of experience in Safety and Health Industry preferredExperience with ISO14001 or ISO45001 preferredSupervisory experience preferredExcellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership requiredExcellent communication and working knowledge of computer programs, such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Projects, MS Visio, MS SharePoint and demonstrated ability to problem-solve requiredAbility to perform the essential functions of this position requiredWhat We Can Offer You:A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Opportunities to grow and learn with the industry colleagues are endless.Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
