Job Description:

As the Company's first line of management, Carpenter Foremen supervise a group of carpenters by using their knowledge and experience to coordinate with overall jobsite tasks/schedules/requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

Displays knowledge and skill in their specific craft.

Displays advanced leadership qualities across tasks and interactions.

Assists General Foreman in prioritization, organization of work, and pursuit of project goals.

Acts under general instructions and work schedules established by higher levels of supervision and work from plans and specifications.

Successfully manage a single crew and equipment.

Demonstrates capability to safely and proficiently inspect/operate any Heavy Equipment for which a certification has been obtained.

Plans daily and weekly work schedules and individual work assignments based on a 2-week look ahead. Establishes goals to complete work satisfactorily while considering scheduling and budget guidelines.

Possesses the capability to read, review, and interpret procedures, drawings, manuals, specifications, etc.

Maintains a general understanding of pre-determined wage processes and can answer basic questions.

Demonstrates ability to ask, answer, and/or share job and Company-related questions/information positively.

Understands, utilizes, and possesses the capability to mentor others in the use of work plans, JSAs, cost reports, manhour reporting, and accurate timesheet completion.

Determines availability of materials and recommends necessary purchases.

Instructs and provides mentorship to their crews throughout all work processes and operations, including McLean safety practices.

Makes recommendations on hiring, wage adjustments, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations in a manner consistent with Company policies/procedures and subject to the approval of the Construction Manager and Human Resources.

Participates in and conducts formal performance evaluations with their crews.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five (5) years related industry experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work, and be able to pass a drug screen and criminal history background check. Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
