WE ARE OFFERING A $500 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR THIS POSITION! ($250 after two weeks of employment and $250 after two months)

This position is based out of our Administrative office building and will serve a number of our community based homes throughout the State. This role is part of our Maintenance team and will also be responsible for the following:

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Easterseals facilities in a safe, functional, and habitable condition.
  • Maintain all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, making repairs when necessary.
  • Be a registered agent for Easterseals fire panels system when necessary and conduct and document monthly fire drills.
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, hanging sheetrock and finishing walls, hanging doors, installing locks, repairing windows, and building and installing shelves, cabinets, etc.
  • Perform electrical repairs including replacing and installing switches, plugs, new light fixtures, exhaust fans, etc.
  • Perform plumbing repairs including unstopping drains, sweating new copper lines, installing faucets, disposals, dishwashers, etc.
  • Paint interior and exterior of buildings in professional manner.
  • Maintain grounds of Easter Seal properties including shrubs, trees, lawns, mulch beds, parking lots, sidewalks, gutters, etc.
  • Interact with staff and clients in a cordial and professional manner.
  • Assist in keeping Easterseals clients and staff in a safe and secure environment.
  • Assist outside contractors when necessary.
  • Assist in office moves; meeting setups and breakdowns; and assist with special events including setup, breakdown and clean up.
Qualifications:
  • One year experience in a health or welfare agency
  • Two years experience in the building/construction trade as a carpenter
  • High school education or GED preferred
  • Defensive Driving, MANDT, or SOLVE training
  • Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance that meets our coverage requirements.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; staff rotate every 5-6 weeks for on-call coverage

Compensation: $18 / hour + on-call compensation
