About the role: The Case Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive case management services to children and families, with a focus on ensuring safety, achieving permanency, and promoting overall well-being. This role involves direct engagement with clients, caregivers, and community partners to coordinate services and support.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services-related field is required
Previous experience working with children and family services is preferred
Licensure & Certifications:
Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) is preferred
What you will do:
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of families’ lived experiences, including factors such as trauma, poverty, developmental stages, gender, race, ethnicity, and language
Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, caregivers, placement providers, the Department for Children and Families (DCF), colleagues, and other community partners
Communicate relevant and appropriate information with families and professionals in a timely manner
Provide in-home and community-based services including:
Observation of caregiver-child interactions
Maintenance and development of family and community connections
Resource coordination
On-call crisis intervention and safety planning
Life skills training
Transportation of clients
Administration of drug screenings
Advocate for clients based on comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations. Advocacy efforts may include:
Providing testimony in court
Attending school and service coordination meetings
Facilitating access to mental health and other support services
Complete thorough and timely documentation, including:
Case notes and logs
Comprehensive assessments
Court reports and social histories
