Job Description: Cashier at The Black Rose European Bakery
Position Overview: We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier at The Black Rose European Bakery. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items.
- Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about our products, ingredients, and pricing.
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Process payments using POS systems and ensure all payments are recorded correctly.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer at all times and adhere to opening/closing register procedures.
- Track and manage tips received from customers.
- Educate customers on bakery products, including specials and promotions.
- Recommend additional items to complement customer purchases.
- Monitor and replenish merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
- Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the bakery, including dining areas and restrooms.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or retail preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations calmly.
- Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry bakery products and supplies as needed.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
