CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – DOLLAR GENERAL - ENTERPRISE BUSINESS ANALYTICS – HOME OFFICE (NASHVILLE, TN / CINCINNATI, OH) HORMEL FOODS CORPORATION To save time applying, Hormel Foods does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas for this position at this time. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides periodic and ad-hoc reporting based on issues discovered in the regular reporting that digs deep into markets and products issues with solid recommendations. Monthly delivery of actionable (actionable=answer the so what + action) tracking reports to include but not limited to: new items and their volume transfer market share shelving, aisle tests & new strategies Pricing and promotions ROM and key competitor performance Annually develops and presents a strategic business plan based on a "best in class" focused on growth the category with Hormel Brands. Works with and drives the process with category management leaders, marketing and the consumer insights group to review all available resources, document voids/opportunities, create action plans to fill voids/drive opportunities where possible, filter them, condense & format them into category defining guidance. Communicates to key customers in the strategic business assessment (using BIC templates and being adaptive to what will lead thought with the customer) strategic solutions that will contribute to category growth. Responsible for competitive and marketplace intelligence, analysis and reporting. This would include share gap reporting, price gap reporting, and market visits that determine competitive retailer strategies and tactics. Responsible to develop and utilize the category management insights, to generate business development strategies and tactics, and help drive Hormel’s overall brand development. Responsible for helping develop strategies that will further penetrate the customer's organization. Effectively utilizes Revenue Growth Management tools to inform recommendations on pricing and promotional strategies. Able to collaborate with sales team members to scenario plan business options that maximize desired results within trade budget. Develops tools and processes to improve or deepen knowledge of category performance Provide category management talent development guidance and coaching and mentoring. QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2+ years of sales/marketing/analytics experience. Pattern of initiative and independent leadership. Strong skills using technical tools such as Excel, IRi, Panel, customer POS, Nielsen Shelf Architect, etc. Proven problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to take the lead in a team environment on a variety of complex projects. Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills. Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Preferred 4+ years of sales/marketing/analytics experience. Previous experience with 1010 or other retailer loyalty data platform is a plus. LOCATION Home Office, Nashville TN / Cincinnati, OH preferred. May be open to candidates based in other locations within a 4-hour drive of the Nashville, TN area. A comprehensive relocation package to the Nashville, TN area will be offered, if required. COMPENSATION The base hiring pay range for the Category Development Manager - Dollar General role is between $95,550 - $133,750 per year , and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
