Job Summary
To support comprehensive services within Student Health Services. This may include front desk scheduling and check-in duties, screening and/or rooming patients, laboratory and pharmacy duties. Employee will manage and maintain an efficient movement of patients through the clinic and assist medical staff as directed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of an approved training program in medical assisting and registration or certification as a medical assistant by passing a national examination.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with confidential and technical medical information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times; strong organization, prioritization, and excellent attention to detail; precise work.
Experience performing venipuncture and/or administering immunizations in a medical setting.
Strong communication and soft skills (work ethic, attitude, problem-solving, etc.).
Data entry skills sufficient to navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and lab record-keeping.
Ability to prioritize workload.
CPR Certification
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Additional Requirements
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating in and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
