Columbia Nephrology is the largest, most comprehensive nephrology group in South Carolina. We have 19 physicians, 12 advanced practitioners, and 5 offices located throughout the Midlands. We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant and offer highly competitive salaries and benefits.

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (full-time)

Locations: West Columbia SC 29169

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00AM – 5:00PM; Friday 8:00AM – 1:00PM (Full-time)

Minimum Qualification: 

· High school graduate, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certificate, up-to-date certification from an accredited program, Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), medical terminology and computer skills,

· Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office, phlebotomy, typing, computer skills, and electronic medical record experience.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for the exam with the physician.
  • Updating patient’s medication list and vitals in electronic chart.
  • Answering phones and directing them to the appropriate person.
  • Schedule appointments for established and new patients.
  • Arrange hospital admissions, outpatient testing or arranging dialysis admissions for patients.
  • Calling patients with test results, medications changes, treatments, and documenting in the patient’s electronic health records. (EHR)
  • Monitor prescription line and faxed prescriptions. complete prior authorization if needed.
  • Checking electronic charts to make sure all necessary information is in the chart before the patient is seen.
  • Administer injections.
  • Fill in at check in and check out area if needed.
  • Completing prior authorizations for OP procedures.
  • Scanning documents in patients’ records.
  • Potentially travel to other offices to include Columbia and Lugoff.
  • Other duties as requested.

Pay range: $15-$19 per hour/depending one experience
