Certified Nurse MidwifeTo provide superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service by: Providing acute, episodic outpatient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and education.General Education Requirements: Clear and active Florida certified nurse midwife licensure 3 years experience of related clinical experience in a primary health care environment, community health center or federally qualified health center (fqhc) Must be able to work with minimal supervision in various outpatient settings, is motivated, self-directed, and demonstrates initiative Current basic life support (bls)/cpr certification from the american heart association or the american red cross Proficient in electronic medical records (emr) Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills Ability to speak and understand the english language to effectively communicate with patients Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology Meets department skill requirementsPrimary Responsibilities: Manages acute, episodic outpatient care and health maintenance needs through the provision of a primary care medical home Labor & delivery shifts, as scheduled Demonstrates competent skills in therapeutic, cost-effective pharmacologic administration and management Develops and implements formal and informal teaching plans for patients, families, staff, and community Promotes patient/family-informed decision making in treatment plans and options Collaborates with chief of woman's health in development of clinical protocols/procedures for delivery of outpatient care Provides care to patients in a safe environment Participates in departmental cqi efforts and provides support for improvement of identified issues Works with clinical manager to ensure collaborative problem solving with staff through participation in identification, mediation, and resolution of issues and team problems Promotes staff and community enhancement through coordination of in-services to staff, physicians, and partners to promote profession and organization Attends monthly department staff meetings, quarterly medical directors' meetings, and other scheduled meetings Maintains quality department performance measures Value maintains predetermined productivity based on patient volumes Maintains internal customer satisfaction
