Essential Qualifications- Six (6) months of experience as an Aide Trainee; or one year of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients/residents; and graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Must be registered and certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as having met the competency requirements for performing nurse aide work in a Long-Term Care Unit.
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to provide verifiable education, training, and work history
This is non-professional nursing work in the care of patients/residents and their quarters in a hospital, infirmary, long-term care unit, or domiciliary care unit. CNAs perform non-professional nursing services in the direct and daily care and rehabilitation of ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients/residents, as well as the maintenance of their quarters. Duties are of limited scope and are carried out in accordance with established rules and regulations and under specific instructions from registered nurses and/or physicians.
- Deliver direct, hands-on care to patients/residents under the supervision of an RN or physician
- Assist with daily living activities such as hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
- Encourage and assist patients/residents to participate in prescribed rehabilitative and recreational activities as individuals and as members of a group
- Collect vital signs and document care accurately in the EMR
- Maintain patient/resident quarters
- Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all patients/residents and staff
- Participate in on-the-job, in-service, and formal training to update and maintain non-professional nursing care expertise
- Ability to perform routine physical tasks and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work float shifts as outlined above
