We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The ideal candidate will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, and ensure their comfort and safety. This role is critical in providing hands-on support to both patients and the healthcare team, ensuring a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety during movement or repositioning.
- Take and document vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Report any changes in patient health or behavior to the RN or LPN.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms and ensure a safe, comfortable environment.
- Assist in feeding patients and monitoring dietary intake.
- Help patients with their personal hygiene and comfort, including oral care and skin care.
- Support patient independence by encouraging and assisting with mobility and exercise.
- Provide emotional support to patients and build positive relationships with them and their families.
- Follow care plans and ensure compliance with healthcare protocols and safety regulations.
- Assist with patient transport within the facility.
- Ensure proper documentation of care provided and update patient records as required.
- Adhere to infection control policies and practices to prevent the spread of illness.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited training program.
- Active state CNA license in good standing.
- CPR certification (must be current).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of basic patient care principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Physical stamina and strength to assist with patient mobility and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for caring for individuals in need.
- Attention to detail and the ability to document patient care accurately.
- Ability to handle stressful or difficult situations with calmness and professionalism.
- Previous experience as a CNA in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient needs.
