Shift: Day Shift | Monday Friday | 5x7.5-Hour Shifts (8:00 AM 4:00 PM)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join a supportive school-based team in Durango, CO. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide targeted therapeutic interventions that help students achieve functional and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Support the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing treatment strategies.

  • Conduct therapeutic activities focused on fine motor development, sensory integration, and daily living skills.

  • Accurately document student progress, treatment sessions, and outcomes.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, teachers, and interdisciplinary staff.

  • Adhere to school district policies and maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Current and active COTA license in the state of Colorado.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is preferred but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques appropriate for a school environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

  • Patience and adaptability when working with diverse student populations.
