Full job description

Nexus Therapy is now hiring for a part-time Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist position for the remainder of the 23-24 school year! This position pays $70 per hour and you can bill for up to 12 hours per month! You could work two 6-hour Fridays per month, but the schedule can also be flexible to suit your needs. You would be working with one high school student near lovely Fairplay, Colorado. Must be certified as an OMS in the state of Colorado. There may be the option to renew this position for the 24-25 school year as well.

Duties:
- Assess students' physical, mental, and emotional abilities to determine appropriate treatment plans
- Develop and implement individualized treatment programs to help students improve their orientation and mobility skills
- Provide therapy sessions to students to improve their motor skills, coordination, and sensory integration
- Teach students how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices to enhance their independence
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as educators, to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate students and their families on strategies for managing their conditions and maximizing their functional abilities

Requirements:
- Valid Colorado state license or certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of OMS principles, techniques, and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients and their families
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
