Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis, identifying trends and variances.
  • Review and provide in-depth analysis of project revenues, costs, budgets, and variances.
  • Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts.
  • Improve and enhance processes and internal controls.
  • Compile consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Prepare financial transaction reports such as income and loss statements, balance sheets, and account reconciliations.
  • Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable weekly.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and generate monthly client invoices.
  • Manage tax filings and maintain the tax calendar.
  • Enter all cash receipts and disbursements for IOLTA trust and operating accounts into the accounting system.
  • Provide all required financial reports to the firm's owner monthly.
  • Develop plans for growth to increase profitability while reducing expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Assist with year-end audit, financial reporting, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Reside in the state of Florida
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least three years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a law firm or accounting firm environment.
  • Deep knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, data entry, and accounting software.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling financial data.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
