Job Description Tax Preparer - CPA at Uplevel By Design responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and providing tax planning insights to clients. Responsibilities: Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065, etc.) Provide tax planning and advice to clients to optimize tax outcomes Stay up to date with current tax laws and regulations Identify tax savings opportunities for clients and offer actionable recommendations Respond to client inquiries and provide clear explanations of tax issues Assist with tax audits and resolve any discrepancies or issues Maintain accurate and complete tax documentation and records Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate filings Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - Requirement In‑Depth knowledge of Federal and State Tax Law Experience in tax preparation and filing for individuals and businesses at a multistate level Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and client service skills Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality Measures of Success: Completion of projects on time and to a high standard. Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. High level of responsiveness and proactive problem‑solving. Consistent alignment with company values and mission‑driven goals. Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week Salary: Base salary $70,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus up to 40% bonus tied to company profitability and value‑add contributions.
