JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our accounting team based in Iowa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, audits, tax filings, and providing financial advisory services to clients. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, state and federal regulations, and excellent communication skills.
MUST HAVE:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License: Active CPA certification is mandatory for this role, with current registration in Iowa.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or tax preparation, preferably in a public accounting firm.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, or other ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Knowledge of Tax Laws: Comprehensive understanding of state and federal tax codes and regulations, particularly those applicable in Iowa.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting principles.
Auditing: Conduct internal and external audits, ensuring regulatory compliance and identifying areas for financial improvements.
Tax Planning & Filing: Prepare and file state and federal tax returns, ensuring clients adhere to all regulations and take advantage of applicable deductions or credits.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in creating annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts for clients or the organization.
Consultation & Advisory: Provide financial advice and consultation to clients or management on financial decisions, mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements and tax filings.
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analyses, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
Client Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their financial concerns, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments such as payroll, auditing, and tax departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Software Utilization: Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) for financial reporting, data entry, and analysis.
