We are seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to join a growing public charter school in Plainfield, NJ. This teacher will work with grades 5–8, helping students explore the world around them through hands-on experiments, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking.

• Teach science content across grades 5–8, including Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and introductory Chemistry/Physics concepts.

• Create and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards that promote inquiry-based learning.

• Facilitate hands-on experiments, lab activities, and real-world investigations that spark curiosity and deepen understanding.

• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including those needing remediation or enrichment.

• Use assessments and data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction for mastery.

• Foster a classroom environment that encourages questioning, exploration, and scientific thinking.

• Integrate science-related technology tools and digital resources to enhance instruction.

• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams on curriculum development and cross-curricular initiatives.

• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

Required:

• Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and is eligible for a CE or CEAS, or holds a valid NJ teaching
  credential for the grade and/or subject required.
• Must hold or be able to obtain the New Jersey Certification for Middle School with Subject matter
  specialization Grades (5-8)
• Charter school or urban school setting experience is preferred, but not required.
• A demonstrated track record of facilitating student academic growth and having a joyous, positive
  classroom.
• Passion and sustained commitment to ensure that joyful, rigorous instruction is delivered to every
  scholar, every day.
