New Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.
Location: Clarkston primary; Farmington Hills as needed.
Schedule: Mutually agreed upon Part-Time schedule to support business needs
Reports To: Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor
Compensation: Hourly employee. Commensurate with experience.
Position Summary: The Certified Teacher is to assist with the special and educational needs of consumers participating in the FACE to FACE Partial Hospital Day Program. This position will work in both Clarkston and Farmington Hills offices depending on census of programs.

Essential Duties / Functions:
- Provides educational services in accordance with the policies and procedures of Oakland Schools’ Aspire Program.
- Collaborates with clinical staff on assigned cases to provide feedback/guidance related to education needs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of specialized methodology for teaching students with disabilities.
- Attends meetings with clinical staff, school staff, consumers, and families as required.
- Completes documentation as required.
- Monitors and reports progress toward IEP Goals and Objectives.
- Maintains accurate records. Submit required reports and documentation to administration as required.
- Supports students and parents with student placement, curriculum, and instructional issues.
- Keeps detailed documentation from parent/student conferences.
- Alerts administrators of any concerns about student progress and/or truancy.
- Assists with various projects throughout the year with colleagues and administration, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions: Staff are to dress professionally at all times and will need to be prepared to be actively involved with consumers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Professional Teaching Certificate required and Special Education Endorsement in Learning Disabilities highly preferred. Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of basic computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel. Approved driving record is required. Must be able to work well with all types of people and all populations including children, adolescents, and adults.
