We are seeking an experienced Chemical Plant Manager to oversee operations, production, and safety compliance at a leading chemical manufacturing plant in Mobile, AL. This is a high-impact leadership role for a results-driven professional with a strong background in chemical processes, plant management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Production Management

  • Oversee daily chemical plant operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Manage production schedules, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and operational staff.
  • Conduct training programs to improve skills and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate employee performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, ASME, and API regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and hazardous exposures.
  • Investigate safety incidents and lead emergency response efforts.

Budget & Resource Optimization

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, focusing on cost control.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring availability of necessary chemicals and materials.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Quality Control & Process Improvement

  • Work with the quality assurance team to ensure product compliance with industry and customer standards.
  • Implement quality control systems to maintain excellence in production.
  • Optimize plant processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve sustainability.

Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Report production metrics and challenges to senior management.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, safety, and R&D teams for seamless plant operations.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (Required).
  • Experience: 5-10 years in chemical manufacturing, with proven leadership experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of chemical processes, plant operations, and industrial safety standards.
  • Leadership Abilities: Experience in team management, training, and development.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to analyze and resolve complex operational, technical, and safety issues.
  • Project & Budget Management: Skilled in handling multiple projects, process optimization, and cost management.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate across departments and report to senior management.
